Meeting with hs.uci.edu UTAK & UCI Meet September 18, 2025 • 27 mins • View Meeting ACTION ITEMS ✨ Upgrade to Premium to unlock AI generated action items MEETING SUMMARY ✨ Chronological Template Upgrade to Premium to revert to advanced summary templates Introductions and technical issue overview @ 0:00 The participants introduced themselves and Kevin Kopp from UTAK Laboratories provided an overview of the technical issue with the lead level 4 control (lot D7331). The control has a verified value of 69 but UC Irvine is recovering lower than expected values, around 60 or under, and is seeing vial-to-vial inconsistency. Understanding the verified value @ 4:45 Kevin explained that UTAK sends products out to third-party labs for value assignment, and the verified value is simply the result from that external testing. Kyana from UC Irvine noted that without additional statistics like standard deviation, it's difficult to interpret the significance of the 69 verified value compared to their lower results. They would like more information on the testing methodology used by the third-party lab. Troubleshooting options @ 10:48 Kevin offered several potential troubleshooting steps, including: • Obtaining more details from the third-party lab on their testing method and number of replicates • Sending new samples to the same or a different lab to compare results • Potentially remaking the control material and retesting The group agreed that having the third-party lab test the material using the same ICP-MS method as UC Irvine would be ideal for comparison. Statistical requirements for verified value @ 23:29 Kyana indicated that from a statistical perspective, she would prefer to see a minimum of 3 data points from the third-party lab to calculate an average and standard deviation, rather than a single result. Kevin acknowledged this feedback and said he would work with the engineering team to implement this as a requirement for the next lot of the custom control. Next steps @ 25:45 Kevin and Andrew agreed to follow up on obtaining the additional details from the third-party lab, and to coordinate sending a new sample to that lab or another lab using the same ICP-MS method as UC Irvine, in order to better understand the discrepancy in results. They will then reconnect with UC Irvine to discuss the findings. View Meeting → © Fathom 2025. All Rights Reserved. Unsubscribe
