Update on Whole Blood Matrix Feedback

Hi Mikayla and Kristin,
Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback with me earlier this week. I wanted to follow up to let you know that I’ve already raised your concerns about the cocaine interference in whole blood matrices with our Engineering team.
They are reviewing our donor pooling and processing practices and checking whether we’ve observed similar issues internally, particularly since this appeared starting in 2024.
We’re also exploring what details of our process we can share externally to help you compare with your Red Cross samples and hopefully narrow down possible causes.
I don’t have a complete resolution yet, but I wanted to reassure you that this is actively being worked on. As soon as I have more information from Engineering, I’ll circle back with specifics.
I appreciate you flagging this - it’s helpful for us to understand where our products are meeting expectations and where we need to investigate further. I’ll keep you updated as soon as I have more detail to share.
