Are there any open items/orders/quotes I can support getting through our system that haven’t been resolved yet for you? ============ Below is a brief PEth overview you can share internally: What is PEth? Phosphatidylethanol (PEth) is a group of phospholipids formed only in the presence of ethanol (via phospholipase D) and integrates into red blood cell membranes—making it a highly specific biomarker of alcohol exposure. Detection window Captures alcohol use over roughly the prior 2–4 weeks; individual PEth species have half-lives on the order of ~4–10 days. Specimen & method Measured from whole blood (including dried blood spots) using LC-MS/MS. Commonly monitored species include PEth 16:0/18:1 and 16:0/18:2. Interpretation notes Cutoffs vary by laboratory and clinical context. Many labs use qualitative ranges (e.g., <20 ng/mL none/low, 20–200 ng/mL moderate/recent, >200 ng/mL heavy/frequent). Results should always be interpreted alongside clinical history; incidental environmental alcohol exposure does not create PEth. Typical use cases Abstinence monitoring, relapse assessment, and support for forensic/toxicology, transplant, and workplace programs. UTAK does have PEth as an available analyte and we have made many controls with this. We don’t have any stock products with this analyte so a custom QC is the way to go to get it. We find PEth present in most of the starting matrix we get so we do a baseline test where we send you the matrix prior to manufacturing to have you run it and tell us the starting value since we don’t test for this in house.
