Hi Andrew, Yes, we do a lot more testing than just volatiles. We are a postmortem toxicology lab that performs volatile analysis and drug screens and quantitations. The reason we prefer to use Utak for the volatile controls is the convenience of having them prepared in the 4 matrices we need (blood, urine ,serum, and vitreous). Most of our other controls are made in house (by me) and are prepared in organic solvent which are then used to fortify blank blood and some tissue matrices for controls during analysis.
