Questioning price increase with volume decrease
Nov 17, 2025 08:08 PM
Hi Kevin,
Great question. It’s the difference between the fixed cost and the variable cost. No mater how much or little we make there is a cost for the labor, to create paperwork, to order and inspect supplies, do final batch review etc. These costs don’t change based on order volume.
Then there is incremental cost of little more urine, a little more drugs, a few extra vials, labels etc. to make additional volume. The more volume you order in a single order, the more this cost is spread out bringing down the per vial price.
Thank you,
Andrew Hartmann

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the updated quote. Can you explain why the per-pack price increases so significantly when moving from the 2 pack to the 1 pack option?
Best regards,
