Technical questions about an unexpected peak in alcohol QC
Sep 16, 2025 02:51 PM
Hi Gabby, I am not sure I understand the issue, can you provide some additional details regarding this? Is it causing an issue, or more a curiosity? I can say in general, UTAK is only controlling and testing for the analytes on the IFU. What that means is there could be any number of other drugs/analytes present in the matrix. Similar when it comes to testing. A 3rd party lab runs it just for the analytes on the IFU so we don’t get data back on what else may be in the matrix. If this info isn’t sufficient, I’ll flag this for our technical team to review and respond once we get a bit more insight into how this is impacting you. Hope all is well! I was hoping you would be able to assist us. Our alcohol analysts noticed some peaks on their air blanks after the ethanol control (lot: D6424) vial was analyzed. I wanted to show you the chromatograms to see if this is normal when UTAK tested it? or if you've gotten feedback from other labs? Best, Gabby.
